I love this shot. I love the way I framed it and it has me itching for some new WA glass. If you can’t see the neck of the guitar click the image and have a look at it on Flickr to see the whole image. The great thing about theatre shows is the black walls and the isolating effect of the lights.

This was a pretty hopeless shoot. The lighting was ordinary but I got a couple of passable shots, including this one with Nick Littlemore in silhouette and projection screen behind…

This shot has given me some ideas for Strobist work!

I kicked off this blog as a way of featuring my best live music photography, but I’ve not put any of the shots up from this year until now. So I’ve got my poo in one sock and put up all of my shots from shows this year.

Each has a bit of a description, this one was taken at The Mess Hall show on Friday. I caught one of the moveable cans behind Cec’s head which isolates his head and body. You can see his drum stick in the background, blown out by the light.

I’ve shot The Butterfly Effect a couple of times now and always seem to get great shots. They always have awesome lights and this time around they really cranked up the white lights, with excellent results.

The blur in this shot creates a sense of movement. Whilst the fres on the moveable lights creates a great rainbow in the back ground.

This shot has a great sense of light and shade, with the ambient light creating the background and shade creating the definition.

A pretty boring show really. I got stuck in one spot and couldn’t get any really exciting shots.

This shot capture Vincent mid song. He has a great expression on his face.

From the three day shoot this is my favourite. I shot conservatively only putting four hundred frames through the camera and editing as I went.
